Disgruntled Ryanair passengers left stranded at Rome airport after Monday ATC strike

Share

A dozen of Belgian passengers got stranded last Monday afternoon after their Ryanair flight between Rome and Brussels South Charleroi was cancelled due to the Italian air traffic control strike.

After a long wait at the Rome airport Ryanair offered a Wednesday morning flight and provided free hotel accomodations downtown Rome inclusive breakfast and lunch with free transfer to and from the airport.

Instead the bus driver brought them to a hotel in ‘the middle of nowhere’ with only 4 rooms available.

Yesterday Ryanair informed the stranded passengers that the airline will only reimburse the first night stay.

“Now we have to pay the second night, all meals and the transfer to the hotel ourselves, besides stranded we feel left in the dark.”, the disgruntled passengers concluded.
