Turbulence at Royal Air Maroc due to pilot strike: 10 daily flights cancelled, burning $2 million per day since 18 July

Share

Morocco’s flag carrier Royal Air Maroc is currently flying through rough turbulence as hundreds of pilots have been on strike since 18 July, demanding a pay rise. The airline was forced to cancel around 10 flights per day and is losing about $2 million per day.

Since 18 July, the airline was forced to cancel around 80 flights. Passengers traveling mainly between France, Spain, Italy and Morocco have been affected. Passengers are being rerouted, refunded or offered accommodation by the airline.

The pilots demand a better salary, better working conditions, more rest days and a reform of their flight schedules.
