Royal Air Maroc will introduce a new nonstop service between Los Angeles (LAX) and Casablanca (CMN) starting on June 7, 2026, marking the first direct air link between Africa and the U.S. West Coast. The route will operate three times weekly using Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with an approximate flight time of 11 hours.
The new service represents a major milestone in the airline’s long-haul expansion strategy and strengthens Casablanca’s role as a key hub connecting Africa, Europe, and the Americas. It is designed to serve growing demand from the Moroccan and African diaspora, leisure and business travellers, and international sports fans, particularly ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in North America.
Royal Air Maroc’s leadership described the route as a strategic step to enhance Morocco’s global connectivity and visibility in the U.S. market, one of the world’s largest sources of outbound travel. The Los Angeles service expands the carrier’s North American network, which already includes New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, Montreal, and Toronto, and complements recent frequency increases on other long-haul routes.
The launch aligns with Royal Air Maroc’s broader development plan, encompassing fleet growth, network expansion, and preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2030, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
