Royal Air Maroc continues its development plan with the opening of a new air base at Tetouan–Sania R’mel Airport. Developed in partnership with the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT), this initiative aims to sustainably strengthen connectivity in the north of the Kingdom and complement the existing service from Tangier.
Starting March 27, 2026, Tetouan will be directly connected to six major European cities: Paris-CDG, London-Gatwick, Brussels, Barcelona, ??Madrid, and Malaga. On the domestic network, the airline will also enhance the Tetouan–Casablanca route with three additional weekly flights, supplementing the existing Friday and Sunday services, to optimise connections via the Casablanca hub.
All of these routes will be operated with Embraer 190 aircraft, which are well-suited to regional needs and offer a modern level of comfort. According to Royal Air Maroc, this new base addresses a strong demand for mobility and supports both the tourism and economic development of the region.
Royal Air Maroc CEO Hamid Addou emphasises that this expansion “strengthens the attractiveness of northern Morocco to European markets that generate tourists.” For its part, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) believes that the initiative is fully aligned with a balanced and sustainable tourism growth strategy.
Tickets go on sale starting January 7, 2026, through Royal Air Maroc’s usual channels and its network of partner agencies.
