Riyadh Air has announced the launch of daily nonstop service between Riyadh and Cairo, marking a major step in the airline’s initial network rollout and reinforcing air links between Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
The route will be operated by the airline’s new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and is scheduled to commence shortly after delivery of Riyadh Air’s first aircraft in the coming weeks. Cairo joins previously announced launch destinations London and Dubai.
The Riyadh–Cairo corridor is one of the busiest international capital-to-capital routes globally, with approximately 2.7 million passengers recorded last year. The airline said the selection reflects strong point-to-point demand across business, tourism, and religious travel segments, aligning with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives to enhance connectivity and economic diversification.
Cairo’s role as a regional business and tourism hub—including access to attractions such as the Grand Egyptian Museum—was cited as a key factor in route planning.
Riyadh Air also introduced its digital-native “Sfeer” loyalty programme, offering members benefits including complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and early access to fares and points accrual.
The Cairo service forms part of the airline’s broader ambition to build a network of more than 100 destinations by 2030, positioning Riyadh as a global aviation gateway.
