Riyadh Air’s first-ever flight landed at London Heathrow Airport on Sunday, officially marking the Saudi carrier’s global debut. Operated by a Boeing 787 named Jamila (“beautiful” in Arabic), the inaugural flight symbolises the start of Riyadh Air’s journey to connect Riyadh with more than 100 destinations by 2030.
For now, the daily Riyadh–London service is available exclusively to Riyadh Air and Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) employees, as part of the airline’s initial phase of operations.
“This marks a new step in our journey to take off from Riyadh to the world,” the airline said, celebrating the milestone as it prepares for full-scale commercial service in the coming years.
