The Estonian capacity provider REGIONAL JET will be expanding its cooperation with SAS by adding 5 more CRJ900 under long term ACMI contract. 3 CRJs will be based in Tallinn, and 2 CRJs will be based in Vilnius with operations starting in March 2020. REGIONAL JET already has a long-term contract with SAS for operating  8 ATR72-600 aircraft and 2 CRJ900 aircraft based in Denmark and Sweden.

REGIONAL JET is a regional capacity provider supporting major airlines with long-term and ad-hoc regional capacity. REGIONAL JET started its operations in early 2016 and currently operates a fleet of 19 aircraft, 12 CRJ700/900s and 7 ATR72-600s. With the new SAS contracts and introduction of Embraer E195 aircraft for other long-term projects in Europe, REGIONAL JET fleet will reach close to 30 aircraft by the end of 2020.

“I am really impressed how our organisation has been developing all these new businesses in such a short period of time and with a performance level above aviation industry average level”, says Jan Palmer, CEO of REGIONAL JET. “We are now above our critical mass level which makes us a very competitive, flexible and sustainable regional capacity provider”, continues Jan Palmer.

The VP External Production at SAS, Mikael Wångdahl, says: “We have chosen REGIONAL JET as one of our long term strategic partners when outsourcing our regional production because of their ability to adapt to our requirements concerning safety, punctuality, regularity and service concept. REGIONAL JET has the competence and is responding to our needs in a very professional way, says Mikael Wångdahl.”

REGIONAL JET has today 450 employees, 90 at the office in Tallinn and 360 crews based in Tallinn, Vilnius, Copenhagen, Billund, Aarhus, Stockholm and Warsaw. With 24 different nationalities, REGIONAL JET is today one of the biggest Regional Airlines in Europe. During summer 2019 the airline is or has been operating for Nordica, LOT, SAS, Air Serbia, Luxair, Flybe, LoganAir, Smartlynx, TUI fly Belgium, Great Dane Airlines, Blueislands and many others.
