Qatar Airways has surpassed 100 Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, marking one of the fastest rollouts of high-speed satellite Wi-Fi in aviation. Just one year after debuting its first Starlink-fitted Boeing 777 in October 2024, the airline has already operated over 30,000 Starlink-connected flights across six continents.
More than half of Qatar Airways’ widebody fleet now offers free, ultra-fast gate-to-gate connectivity, making it the largest operator of Starlink-enabled widebody aircraft worldwide and the only airline in the MENA region providing the service. The rollout of Starlink across Boeing 777s is complete, and installations on Airbus A350s are nearing completion.
Qatar Airways now operates up to 200 Starlink-equipped flights per day, giving passengers in all cabins access to high-speed internet suitable for streaming, gaming, and remote work. CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said the programme is running ahead of schedule, reflecting the airline’s commitment to elevating the passenger experience.
With Starlink now available on flights to most of its destinations in the Americas, Australia, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East, Qatar Airways continues to position itself as a global leader in in-flight connectivity and passenger innovation.
