Qatar Airways has inaugurated three weekly non-stop flights between Doha (DOH) and Red Sea International Airport (RSI), marking its 12th destination in Saudi Arabia. The new route, operated by Airbus A320 aircraft every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, strengthens the airline’s extensive presence in the Kingdom, where it now operates over 130 weekly flights across 12 cities.
The launch ceremony at RSI was attended by senior Qatar Airways executives and Red Sea Global CEO John Pagano, who hailed the service as a major step toward improving international access to Saudi Arabia’s west coast luxury tourism region. RSI CEO Andrew Tyler-Smith highlighted that the Doha connection will help attract European travellers and support the airport’s development as a strategic tourism hub.
Qatar Airways CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer emphasised that the new route underscores the airline’s commitment to the Saudi market and reflects the close ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
The Red Sea destination, developed by Red Sea Global, features over 90 islands, coral reefs, desert landscapes, and volcanic mountains, and currently hosts six luxury resorts, including those on Shura Island, which opened in 2025.
Qatar Airways continues to expand its global network of over 170 destinations, offering passengers seamless connections across six continents through its Hamad International Airport hub, recently named Best Airport in the Middle East by Skytrax 2025.
Bookings are available via qatarairways.com or the airline’s mobile app.
