Qatar Airways flies the Airbus A350-900 on the Brussels route this winter

The airline uses this ultra-modern aircraft from next month and throughout the winter season

Qatar Airways announces the use of an A350-900 Airbus aircraft for flights from Brussels to Doha from 27 October. The A350 had already been introduced on the route on 16 June 2017 but was used at irregular intervals.

Passengers are offered a unique travel experience with this new generation of aircraft: it offers unparalleled comfort and is widely praised for its spacious and quiet two-class cabins, which are equipped with excellent sound insulation. Both in Business Class and Economy Class, passengers have the comfort of extra-wide seats and more legroom, while enjoying the view through the panoramic windows.

In addition, travellers will, of course, have access to top-class services from the airline, such as the Oryx entertainment system with more than 4000 options, and optimum connectivity thanks to in-flight Super WiFi and mobile phone networks.

The A350-900 is the pinnacle of technology. The aircraft is equipped with Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines with 25% less CO2 emissions per passenger than with the current generation of aircraft. The A350-900 also has the lowest CO2 emissions of all wide-body engines, just like the A350-1000, of which Qatar Airways is also the “launch company”.

The LED lighting system in the cabin simulates natural daylight, which lowers the jet lag effect and ensures more comfort for passengers. The advanced air conditioning system also guarantees optimum temperature control in the aircraft. The unique regulation of the humidity level and the highly efficient filters ensure excellent air quality in the cabin. The aircraft is also at the forefront of the aviation industry in this regard.

The A350-900 is 70% made of advanced material, consisting of a combination of composite, titanium and modern aluminium alloys. In addition, carbon fibres are incorporated in the body of the aeroplane, which not only facilitates maintenance but also ensures fuel savings and a 25% reduction in operating costs.
