Qatar Airways expands winter schedule with more flights to key global markets

Share

Qatar Airways is boosting its winter operations with increased capacity to Kuala Lumpur, Lagos, Shanghai and Singapore, adding nearly 3,000 flights across its network this year to meet rising travel demand. The enhancements build on broader winter schedule growth that has already brought additional frequencies to more than 15 destinations, including Cape Town, Dublin, London, Phuket and Toronto.

The airline — voted Skytrax’s World’s Best Airline for a record ninth time in 2025 — continues to strengthen connectivity through its Doha hub at Hamad International Airport.

From 17 December, services to Kuala Lumpur will rise from 14 to 17 flights per week, allowing smoother connections between Southeast Asia and major destinations such as Jeddah, London and Paris. Lagos will see frequencies increase from 10 to 14 weekly between 15 December and 28 March, improving access between Nigeria and the carrier’s global network of more than 170 destinations.

In China, Qatar Airways will boost Shanghai flights from seven to 10 weekly between 1 January and 28 March 2026 to accommodate strong demand to and from Asia’s largest aviation market. From 12 January, the airline will also deploy the Airbus A380 on select services to Singapore, adding premium capacity on one of its busiest regional routes.

The expanded operations are supported by Qatar Airways’ widebody fleet, including Boeing 777s and Airbus A350s equipped with free, high-speed Starlink Wi-Fi — making the carrier the first worldwide to operate more than 100 widebody aircraft with the service.

Qatar Airways says the winter increases reflect its continued strategy of anticipating market trends and adapting to evolving global travel needs for both leisure and business passengers.
