Qatar Airways has announced a new interline partnership with Vietnam-based VietJet Air.

This new agreement which will allow Qatar Airways passengers to travel to and from points in Vietnam not served directly by Qatar Airways using a single reservation across both airlines’ networks. The new partnership will allow passengers travelling to and from eight new domestic points within Vietnam to connect via Qatar Airways’ existing gateways in Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Hanoi (HAN) – providing them with a more seamless travel experience. The agreement includes the popular coastal city Da Nang (DAD), as well as Ban Me Thuot (BMV), Dalat (DLI), Hai Phong (HPH), Nha Trang (CXR), Phu Quoc (PQC), Pleiku (PXU), Vinh City (VII) and one international point, Taipei (TPE).

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to welcome VietJet Air to our growing roster of interline partners as they allow us to provide a more seamless experience for our passengers. The new agreement with VietJet Air will offer our passengers even more choice, providing them an easy connection in Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi before transferring to their Qatar Airways flights.

“Qatar Airways is delighted to celebrate ten years in Vietnam this year, and it is all thanks to the Vietnamese market’s support that we have been able to expand our footprint in this growing market.”

Qatar Airways first commenced operations to Ho Chi Minh City on 25 March 2007. The airline was also the first Gulf carrier to offer non-stop service to Vietnam’s largest city. In addition, Hanoi was added to the airline’s fast-growing global network in November 2010. Passengers will benefit from frequency increases to both cities starting from 1 January 2018, with Qatar Airways flying double-daily to Hanoi and providing 10 flights a week to Ho Chi Minh City.

In March 2016, Ho Chi Minh City also became Qatar Airways Cargo’s sixth freighter destination in Asia Pacific. These developments serve as a reflection of the airline’s growing presence and commitment to the Vietnamese market.

The award-winning airline recently added additional services to the Vietnamese cities of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, as well as to the popular Thai holiday destination of Krabi.
