Qantas will launch new direct flights from Perth to Auckland (QF111) and Johannesburg (QF65) in December 2025, operating three times per week on Airbus A330 aircraft. These routes add over 155,000 seats annually, strengthen Perth as an international hub, and create new job opportunities.
The Perth–Auckland route will also connect seamlessly to Qantas’ New York service (QF3) via Auckland, while the Perth–Johannesburg flight enables further access to Cape Town through Airlink.
Additionally, Qantas will introduce the Boeing 787 Dreamliner on Brisbane–Los Angeles daily flights from October 2025, increasing premium seating. Seasonal adjustments will see Qantas and American Airlines share BNE–LAX service over the December–January peak. Qantas will also boost Melbourne–Dallas to daily Dreamliner service.
Meanwhile, Jetstar will end Sydney–Honolulu flights from October 24, with Qantas maintaining 5–6 weekly services on the route and continuing new Melbourne–Honolulu flights. The A380 returns to daily Sydney–Dallas service in January 2026, offering more premium cabins.
