Yesterday, Aviation24.be was first in Belgium to announce the new flights of Danish low-cost airline Primera Air to three destinations on the East Coast of the United States.

Today, Brussel Airport Company officially welcomes this new airline on its tarmac and confirms that the flights will be operated by the new, high technological Boeing 737 Max 9,  two of which will be based at Brussels Airport.

We are pleased to welcome Primera Air to Brussels Airport with nonstop flights from Brussels Airport to several destinations in North America. The arrival of Primera Air with their low-fare services once again confirms that Brussels Airport offers the widest choice of airlines for all types of passengers. A new route for our airport is Boston, home to many pharmaceutical and biotech companies which are also a key industry in our country. We also look forward to being the gateway to Europe and Belgium for an increasing number of American visitors”, explains Arnaud Feist, CEO of Brussels Airport Company.

Primera Air is a low-fare Nordic airline that operates flights from Europe to more than 70 destinations across the Mediterranean, Middle East, Asia, Caribbean and North America.

Originally founded in Iceland in 2003 as a charter provider, Primera Air has grown to become an airline that now carries over 1 million passengers each year with a fleet of 8 Airbus A321NEO and 10 Boeing 737NG airliners.

In 2018 Primera Air expanded its network by establishing new bases in London Stansted and Paris Charles De Gaulle, providing direct low-fare transatlantic flights to New York, Boston, Toronto and Washington DC.

In May 2018, Primera ordered 8 Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft (with options for 12 more) to be used for transatlantic flights, two of which will be based at Brussels Airport.
