Porter Airlines has reached a major fleet milestone with the delivery of its 50th Embraer E195-E2, underscoring one of the fastest airline growth stories in North America. Since introducing the E2 in December 2022, Porter has used the aircraft to significantly expand its network across Canada and the U.S., and more recently into the Caribbean, Mexico, and Central America.
The airline has firm orders for 75 E195-E2s, plus purchase rights for 25 more, which could ultimately grow the fleet to 100 aircraft. The E2 has enabled Porter to launch 13 new leisure routes this season to destinations including Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Liberia (Costa Rica), from Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and Hamilton.
Porter credits the E195-E2 with supporting its strategy of delivering an elevated economy experience, including a no-middle-seat configuration on all flights, alongside complimentary beer and wine, premium snacks, and high-quality Wi-Fi. The aircraft also brings strong operational benefits, offering up to 29% lower fuel burn than previous-generation E-Jets and a range suitable for nonstop service across much of the Americas.
With its growing E2 fleet and expanding network, Porter continues to reposition itself as a major North American carrier, aiming to redefine economy travel through a combination of efficiency, comfort, and service differentiation.
