Icelandic low-cost carrier PLAY has opened ticket sales for a new seasonal route connecting Keflavík International Airport with Agadir, Morocco. The inaugural flight is scheduled for 19 December 2025, with weekly service every Friday through mid-April 2026. This new destination joins Marrakesh, which PLAY will also serve with scheduled flights next winter.
Located on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Agadir offers a warm and sunny climate year-round, with an average of 300 sunny days annually. The flight duration from Iceland is approximately five and a half hours. Popular among holidaymakers, Agadir features long sandy beaches, modern infrastructure, and a variety of leisure activities including golf and seaside promenades. The city has seen considerable redevelopment in recent years, enhancing its appeal as a laid-back coastal getaway.
With the addition of Agadir and Marrakesh, PLAY expands its winter sun offering to 16 leisure destinations from Iceland. These include eight locations in Spain, four in Portugal, and other warm-weather destinations such as Split in Croatia and Antalya in Turkey. The new Moroccan routes are timed to cater to peak holiday periods, including Christmas, Easter, and the winter season.
