Philippine Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-1000, becoming the 10th airline worldwide to operate the type and marking a major milestone in its long-haul expansion strategy. Configured with 382 seats in a premium three-class layout, the aircraft will support the airline’s plans to expand non-stop transpacific services to key North American destinations.
The delivery is the first of nine A350-1000s ordered by the carrier and will complement Philippine Airlines’ existing A350-900 fleet already deployed on US routes. The larger variant strengthens the airline’s widebody fleet, enabling capacity growth while enhancing efficiency, reliability, and passenger comfort.
The A350-1000 offers around 25% lower fuel burn, operating costs, and CO? emissions compared with previous-generation aircraft, alongside a spacious Airspace cabin. Like all Airbus aircraft, it is certified to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel, supporting the airline’s longer-term sustainability objectives.
