Philippine Airlines inaugurates new non-stop service between Manila and New-York with Airbus A350 XWB

Philippine Airlines has inaugurated its brand new non-stop service between Manila (MNL) and New-York (JFK) with its latest long haul aircraft: the Airbus A350 XWB.

Until 27 October 2018, Philippine Airlines’ flight PR126 from Manila MNL to New-York JFK was operated with the Boeing 777 and made a stop in Vancouver (YVR) before continuing the long journey to New-York (JFK).

On 29 October 2018 however, Philippine Airlines changed the equipment on this route to an Airbus A350 XWB. This allowed the airline to operate the flight between Manila and New-York non-stop.

Philippine Airlines has ordered six Airbus A350 XWB aircraft, of which four have already been delivered. The first aircraft was delivered to the airline on 14 July 2018, making Philippine Airlines the 19th airline to operate to operate the latest Airbus long-haul twin jet.

The inaugural non-stop flight was operated with A350 XWB wearing registration RP-C3504. The aircraft took off from Manila’s Nino Aquino International Airport (MNL) on 20:42 local time (STD was 20:10 local time). After an uneventful flight the long-haul aircraft landed in New York some 14 hours and 50 minutes later, just 30 minutes before midnight New-York time.
