Oman Air has officially joined the oneworld alliance, becoming the global airline group’s 15th full member and further strengthening its presence in the Middle East. The move coincides with the launch of Oman Air’s new nonstop service between Muscat and Amsterdam, expanding the alliance’s reach into the Gulf and South Asia.

The Muscat-based carrier is the third Middle Eastern airline to join oneworld, alongside Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian. Its addition gives oneworld access to 42 destinations across 22 countries, served from Oman Air’s hub at Muscat International Airport.

“Oman Air brings valuable strategic reach and award-winning service to the alliance,” said Nat Pieper, CEO of oneworld. “This partnership opens up exciting new connections for our customers and reinforces oneworld’s position as the premium alliance for international travellers.”

Membership in the alliance will allow oneworld frequent flyers to earn and redeem miles across Oman Air’s network and enjoy tier benefits, including priority check-in, boarding, and access to more than 700 lounges worldwide. Oman Air’s premium passengers will also gain entry to oneworld’s branded lounges, including newly opened facilities in Amsterdam and Seoul.

The airline’s new daily service between Muscat and Amsterdam Schiphol Airport also begins today, enhancing connectivity between Europe and the Gulf region.

“Oman Air is honoured to be joining the oneworld alliance, whose members and global footprint represent the best of what international travellers want to experience,” said Con Korfiatis, CEO of Oman Air. “This is a proud moment for our airline and a significant step forward in our global strategy.”

Oman Air’s entry into oneworld is expected to drive closer cooperation with alliance partners and create more seamless travel options for passengers across the network.
