Oman Air Cargo has announced the launch of a new Muscat–Kigali service, marking its expansion into East Africa and reinforcing trade links between the region, the Middle East and Europe. The route is scheduled to commence in June 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, and will be operated using scheduled Boeing 737 passenger flights.
The new service adds dedicated cargo capacity for perishables and time-sensitive shipments, reflecting growing demand between Africa and the Middle East. It builds on Oman Air Cargo’s recent network growth across the Middle East, Asia and Europe, further strengthening Muscat’s role as a regional logistics hub.
The Muscat–Kigali route will support the export of goods from East Africa, including fresh fruit, vegetables, and flowers, as well as pharmaceuticals, general cargo, and express shipments. Cargo arriving in Muscat will benefit from onward connections across Oman Air Cargo’s global network, providing African exporters with efficient access to markets in Europe, the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.
Oman Air Cargo said the expansion underlines its strategy of offering reliable lift and connectivity for specialist cargo flows while positioning Muscat as a dependable transit hub for global trade.
