Norwegian Group celebrated a record-breaking June, carrying a total of 2,766,198 passengers. Norwegian alone welcomed 2,371,908 travellers, the highest June number since 2019. Sister airline Widerøe also marked a historic milestone with 394,290 passengers — the most in its 90-year history.
The group’s load factor rose by four percentage points compared to last year, reaching 88.4% for Norwegian and 81.1% for Widerøe. Norwegian operated an average of 89 aircraft during the month and reported a 5% increase in passenger traffic (RPK) despite a slight dip in capacity (ASK).
CEO Geir Karlsen praised the strong performance and added that the group is well-prepared for the busy summer season, with over 400 routes to more than 170 destinations across Europe in July. Norwegian also introduced a new booking platform in June, paving the way for future interlining with Widerøe.
