The Norwegian Group achieved the strongest quarterly results in its history in Q3 2025, posting a profit before tax (EBT) of NOK 2.89 billion and an operating profit (EBIT) of NOK 3.07 billion, with an operating margin of 25.1%. The group also paid its first-ever dividend in August and exercised an option to acquire 30 additional Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, expanding its firm order to 80 jets.
CEO Geir Karlsen credited strong summer performance across both Norwegian and Widerøe, noting record passenger volumes and operational reliability. The group carried 8.41 million passengers in the quarter — 7.28 million with Norwegian and 1.12 million with Widerøe. Norwegian achieved an 88.3% load factor, while Widerøe maintained strong operations with 98.2% flight completion and 91.8% punctuality.
Norwegian’s fleet renewal remains central to its strategy, with the Boeing order reinforcing its commitment to a modern, fuel-efficient fleet. The airline also made major strides in Denmark, launching ten new international routes from Billund, winning “Best European Airline” at the Danish Travel Awards, and securing a government contract to operate the Aalborg–Copenhagen route using at least 40% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) from March 2026, cutting emissions by around 6,700 tonnes of CO? annually.
Looking ahead, Norwegian is reducing winter capacity by 25–40% to align with seasonal demand but reports strong early bookings and expects high load factors through the low season.
