The Norwegian Group reported a record second quarter, with profit before tax exceeding NOK 1 billion and operating profit (EBIT) reaching NOK 1.25 billion—a 12.2% margin, the second best in company history. The Group will pay its first-ever dividend of NOK 0.90 per share in August, following board approval.
Strong passenger growth contributed to the results, with 7.6 million travellers across Norwegian and Widerøe—up 274,000 from last year. Norwegian’s load factor rose to 85.2%, and Widerøe’s to 73.9%. Liquidity also surged to NOK 13.8 billion, driven by solid cash flow and aircraft financing.
CEO Geir Karlsen highlighted robust forward bookings, nearly 10% ahead of last year, and strategic fleet investments as positive signs for the remainder of 2025: “We continue to see good booking figures, and the trend for Norwegian for July, August, and the autumn season is encouraging, with close to ten percent more tickets sold compared to the same time last year.“
