The Norwegian Group carried a total of 1.52 million passengers in January, with 1.24 million travelling on Norwegian and 282,000 on regional subsidiary Widerøe. Capacity was adjusted to reflect the seasonally weaker demand typical of January.
Norwegian reduced capacity by 7% year on year but achieved a strong load factor of 85.8%, up 3.8 percentage points, supported by solid demand and improving unit revenues. The airline operated an average of 72 aircraft, with regularity at 99.3% and punctuality at 70.4%. Management said bookings for the remainder of the winter season are running ahead of last year, with strong interest in leisure travel to warmer destinations.
Widerøe also reported stable operations despite winter conditions. Capacity declined slightly, while the load factor fell to 64.2%. The airline maintained high punctuality and regularity, providing a solid platform ahead of the winter holiday travel period.
