Norwegian has agreed to buy 11 CFM LEAP-1B spare engines to support its expanding Boeing 737 MAX fleet. Scheduled for delivery in 2027–2028, the engines enhance the airline’s operational resilience and efficiency.
This move aligns with Norwegian’s sustainability goals and long-term fleet strategy, adding to its two existing LEAP-1B spares.
CEO Geir Karlsen emphasised the importance of the deal for aircraft availability and continued collaboration with CFM. Financing arrangements for the purchase are currently underway.
