Norwegian is significantly expanding its presence at Billund Airport, increasing its offering from five to fifteen direct routes to popular European destinations.
From 2026, travelers from Denmark’s largest regional airport will have direct connections to Barcelona, Bergamo, Chania, Edinburgh, Rome, Gran Canaria, Malta, Naples, Nice and Porto. These new routes come in addition to Norwegian’s existing network from Billund, which already includes Málaga, Alicante, Oslo, London and Palma de Mallorca.
The airline sees strong potential in Billund and the surrounding region, which is both an attractive tourist destination and a dynamic business hub. “With ten new direct routes from Billund we are responding to the clear demand from Danish travelers while strengthening accessibility to and from a region that is important for both tourism and business. Denmark is one of our most important markets, and that makes it natural for us to invest heavily in Billund,” said Geir Karlsen, CEO of Norwegian.
The announcement has been warmly welcomed by both Danish Industry and Billund Airport, with stakeholders highlighting the benefits for tourism, regional businesses, and major attractions such as LEGOLAND and LEGO House.
