A Norwegian Boeing 737-800 with registration SE-RRS bound for Paris CDG as flight D8-2046 was forced to make an emergency landing at Stockholm Arlanda Airport on Wednesday morning after tire debris was found on the runway shortly after takeoff.
The aircraft circled the airport while rescue services and ambulances were placed on standby. A low flyby confirmed damage to the left front tire, and the pilots warned of a potentially hard landing.
At around 10:40, the aircraft landed safely. No injuries were reported, and the runway was reopened shortly after. Passengers were transferred to a replacement aircraft (Boeing 737 MAX 8 registered SE-RYC, new flight number D8-8566) that arrived in Paris with a delay of four and a half hours, while the damaged plane underwent inspection.
Airport operator Swedavia confirmed at 11:30 that the incident had been resolved and operations had returned to normal.
