Norwegian flight D8 5708 (Boeing 737 MAX 8 registered SE-RTX) from Gran Canaria to Oslo was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Málaga after a disruptive passenger behaved aggressively toward the cabin crew.
According to Norwegian, the man refused to follow crew instructions and created a situation that made it unsafe for him to remain on board. He was removed from the aircraft and taken into custody by Spanish police.
Several passengers reported that the man appeared intoxicated, shouted at crew members, and caused distress among those on board, including families with children. One 13-year-old passenger described the incident as frightening, saying her family was worried about what might happen.
The diversion caused a delay to the flight. After the passenger was removed, the aircraft continued its journey to Oslo, with arrival expected about 40 minutes later than originally scheduled.
Norwegian apologised for the inconvenience, noting that while such incidents are rare, disruptive behaviour by passengers is unacceptable and can affect the safety and comfort of everyone on board.
