Norse Atlantic Airways is implementing major workforce and crew reductions as part of a broader restructuring effort aimed at cutting costs and improving profitability. The airline confirmed plans to eliminate around 75 administrative positions, representing roughly 35% of office staff, while also introducing crew furloughs, temporary pay cuts for non-flying crew, and more flexible crew base arrangements.
The measures are part of Norse’s new “Project Falcon” program, which targets up to $50 million in annual savings as the carrier faces rising fuel prices, weaker long-haul demand, and continued financial pressure.
At the same time, Norse is increasing its focus on ACMI and wet-lease operations, with several Boeing 787 aircraft being leased to other airlines during slower travel periods.
Despite the cuts, the airline says the restructuring is intended to strengthen its long-term future and support a return to profitability.
