Civil servants from the Flemish administration in Belgium will no longer be allowed to fly from 1 October for service trips of less than 500 kilometres or six hours by land. The measure was decided by the Flemish Government as part of a reform of the staff regulations.

Flemish officials who make service trips to Paris, Amsterdam or London will soon be unable to fly. The Flemish government is following the example of the Flemish Parliament in its desire to make travel more environmentally friendly.
