Naughty cockpit joke goes viral on social media and tabloid press

Share

A cockpit joke got completely out of hand and even became front-page news in the Daily Mail, a British tabloid, and other newspapers as far as Bulgaria and the US. What happened? The pilots had typed a fake text on their ACARS that it seemed as if someone from the cabin crew had left a valuable item in his/her hotel room in Manchester, United Kingdom.

What was supposed to be an inside joke between a few pilots quickly went viral on social media. The tabloids, of course, did not regard the message as a fake.
