Middle East Airlines has inaugurated a new direct service between Berlin Brandenburg Airport and Beirut, further strengthening air connectivity between Germany’s capital region and the Middle East.
The new route operates four times weekly, with flights on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays using an Airbus A320 configured to accommodate up to 180 passengers. The schedule has been designed to provide flexibility for both short visits and longer stays.
Airport operator Berlin Brandenburg welcomed the arrival of Middle East Airlines, noting that the service provides an important link for the sizeable Lebanese community and other residents in the region with family and personal ties to Lebanon and neighbouring countries.
Beyond serving point-to-point demand, Beirut also offers onward travel opportunities to destinations across the Middle East and is expected to be particularly attractive for passengers travelling onwards to countries such as Syria.
The new route adds another network carrier to BER and further expands the airport’s direct connections to the Middle East.
