Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), parent company of Malaysia Airlines, has ordered 20 more Airbus A330-900neo aircraft, bringing its total A330neo fleet commitment to 40. The announcement was made during Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to France.
The A330neo is central to MAG’s ongoing widebody fleet renewal strategy. Four aircraft have already been delivered and are flying routes to Melbourne, Auckland, and Bali. The airline praised the aircraft’s fuel efficiency, range, and premium passenger experience as key to its growth and sustainability goals.
Airbus welcomed the repeat order as a strong endorsement of the A330neo’s performance. The aircraft features Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines and offers up to 7,200 nautical miles (13,300 kilometres) of range. It also includes Airbus’ Airspace cabin with modern amenities and is SAF-compatible, with a target of 100% SAF capability by 2030.
