On 13 September, a Malaysia Airlines Airbus A350-900 (9M-MAF) was operating flight MH1 from London Heathrow to Kuala Lumpur. Due to a technical issue on the landing gear the aircraft was forced to stop climbing and leveled off at 10,000 feet for a holding pattern above the North Sea, in order to dump fuel. The aircraft made a safe landing back at London Heathrow at 23:20 (UTC +1) , 1 hour and 20 minutes after its initial take-off.
