The European Regions Airline Association (ERA) has announced that Maersk Air Cargo has joined the organisation as its latest airline member, further broadening ERA’s representation of Europe’s aviation sector, including dedicated cargo operations.
Maersk Air Cargo is a key component of A.P. Moller–Maersk’s integrated logistics strategy, operating a global air freight network that connects more than 30 airports through scheduled services, with additional destinations served via charters. The airline operates a fleet of 19 aircraft, including Boeing 777 and 767 freighters, delivering over 400 weekly flight legs from hubs in Denmark, Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and China.
Commenting on the move, Maersk Air Cargo CEO Lars Jordahn said the membership strengthens the airline’s regional and European voice as it contributes to shaping the future of air cargo. ERA Director General Montserrat Barriga highlighted the importance of air freight to European and global connectivity, noting that Maersk Air Cargo’s scale, logistics expertise and sustainability focus will add significant value to ERA’s advocacy work.
The addition of Maersk Air Cargo reinforces ERA’s role as a leading representative body for both passenger and cargo airlines operating across Europe and internationally.
