Just before 19:00 (UTC +2), Congolese President Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo landed at Melsbroek, the military part of Brussels Airport. Tshisekedi is the first president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) to visit Belgium since 2007, within the framework of the normalised relations between the DRC and its former colonial power.

The Congolese Head of State and his suite of around hundred people were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and resigned Minister of Defence Didier Reynders.

For his flight between Kinshasa, DRC and Brussels, Tshisekedi used a special “Head of State” Airbus A320 (ACJ320 registered CS-TFY) owned by Luxaviation, a Luxembourg based private jet and helicopter charter & aviation services company.

The VIP aircraft has a capacity for only 26 passengers and is very luxurious. Just behind the cockpit you can find the presidential suite with a double bed, a spacious bathroom with shower and a comfortable living room.

Then you can find the dining room and lounge, first class lounge and VIP lavatory. The aircraft is equipped with WiFi, on-demand video system, wall-mounted screens and armrest LCD screens.

The night configuration of the aircraft provides a variety of (flat-bed) seats where you can adequately rest before you arrive at your destination. More information (Luxaviation PDF)
