The plane flying he Luxair LG 4605 Luxembourg-London City connection this Wednesday, 25 November 2015, lost a cowling panel of its left engine during take-off at 7.15 am. The safety of passengers, crew and aircraft, a Bombardier Q400, was not at risk at any time. The flight and landing in London City occurred without impairment.
The return flight, LG 4606, was consequently cancelled and passengers offered to board the following Luxair flight to Luxembourg.
The aircraft is now subjected to a detailed analysis by the agents of LuxairTechnics dispatched to London-City to assess the conditions and duration of repairs.
The immobilisation of the aircraft led to the cancellation of a Luxair flight to Barcelona and could cause
further delays and irregularities during the day.
