SWISS has taken delivery of its second Airbus A350-900, with the aircraft arriving in Zurich today. Registered HB-IFB and named Delémont, it is the first A350 in the fleet to feature the airline’s classic red-and-white SWISS livery, following the earlier delivery of HB-IFA in the special “Wanderlust” design.
The new aircraft is scheduled to enter commercial service on 23 February, operating its inaugural revenue flight from Zurich to Montreal. With this delivery, SWISS now has two Airbus A350s in active service as it continues the gradual renewal of its long-haul fleet.
“Our first Airbus A350-900 has proved highly reliable in its first hundred days of operation,” said SWISS Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer. “With each new delivery, more of our customers can enjoy the new SWISS Senses travel experience. Eight more A350s will join our fleet in the years ahead, supporting the continued modernisation of our long-haul operations.”
From the start of the 2026 summer schedule, SWISS plans to deploy the A350 on long-haul routes from Zurich to Boston and Seoul, with additional aircraft due to arrive later this year. Alongside the A350 programme, SWISS will also begin refurbishing its Airbus A330 fleet in 2026, equipping those aircraft with the same SWISS Senses cabin concept.
In its first 100 days of service, the initial SWISS A350 has already flown 720,000 kilometres, completed 300 take-offs and landings, logged 900 flight hours, and served 11 destinations across Europe and North America—underlining the strong operational performance of the new flagship aircraft.
