Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will launch its first-ever flights to Bengaluru as part of its 2026/27 winter schedule expansion, strengthening its presence in India and growing its long-haul network from Zurich.
The new route will operate five times per week and will make Bengaluru the airline’s third Indian destination after Delhi and Mumbai.
SWISS said the new service targets both business and leisure demand, with Bengaluru — often described as India’s Silicon Valley — becoming an increasingly important global technology and innovation hub.
According to SWISS CEO Jens Fehlinger, the route is aimed particularly at growing demand for direct connectivity between Europe and Southern India’s expanding tech sector.
The eastbound Zurich–Bengaluru flight will depart daily except Mondays and Wednesdays, while westbound services from Bengaluru will operate daily except Tuesdays and Thursdays.
SWISS will also expand deployment of its new Airbus A350 fleet, extending the airline’s new “SWISS Senses” onboard product to additional long-haul destinations.
After initial A350 operations to Boston and Seoul, the aircraft will also be introduced on routes from Zurich to:
The airline expects to have five A350s in service by the end of the year.
At the same time, SWISS will reduce several short-haul services from Geneva due to ongoing shortages of aircraft and engine components affecting its Airbus A220 fleet.
Flights from Geneva to:
will be discontinued in the winter 2026/27 schedule.
Overall, SWISS plans to serve 88 destinations worldwide during the winter season, including 24 intercontinental routes from Zurich.
