Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until 9 April 2026, citing ongoing airspace restrictions linked to the situation in the Middle East.
The measure, aligned with other carriers in the Lufthansa Group, reflects continued disruption to regional air traffic. Affected passengers are being offered free rebooking or full refunds, while the airline says it is monitoring developments in coordination with Swiss authorities.
At the same time, SWISS is adding capacity on routes less affected by the crisis. The airline will operate a second daily flight between Zurich and Delhi from 19 to 24 March, using an Airbus A330, in response to surging demand.
The additional services come as passengers reroute travel plans to avoid the Middle East, driving strong demand on alternative Europe–Asia connections. SWISS said existing Delhi–Zurich flights are already operating close to full capacity.
Bottom line: SWISS is both cutting exposure to disrupted Middle East markets and redeploying capacity to high-demand alternative routes, highlighting broader network shifts across European carriers.
