Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS), in partnership with Swiss Federal Railways and Jungfrau Railways, has added Grindelwald to its Air Rail network, improving seamless access to the Bernese Alps for international travellers.
The new connection allows passengers to book integrated air-and-rail journeys to Grindelwald via Interlaken, with tickets available immediately through SWISS channels and travel agencies. The addition builds on the earlier integration of Interlaken in 2022.
With this expansion, SWISS Air Rail now serves 25 destinations across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria, reinforcing its strategy of linking long-haul air services with rail connections to key tourist regions.
The move targets growing international demand—particularly from the UK, U.S., and Asia—for destinations such as the Jungfrau region, known for its alpine scenery and attractions like the Jungfraujoch.
Overall, the initiative strengthens intermodal connectivity, making it easier for global travellers to reach remote mountain destinations while supporting sustainable transport integration.
