Glasgow Airport will welcome a new direct route to Zurich operated by Swiss leisure airline Edelweiss, starting on 29 May 2026. The seasonal service will run twice weekly, on Mondays and Fridays, until 14 September 2026.
The new connection offers travellers from Scotland direct access to Zurich and onward connectivity through its major European hub, while also opening Scotland and beyond to visitors travelling from Switzerland. Airport operator AGS Airports said the route strengthens its partnership with the Lufthansa Group and enhances both leisure and business travel options.
The Glasgow service forms part of Edelweiss’ broader summer 2026 expansion strategy, which includes growth across short-, medium- and long-haul markets. In addition to Glasgow, the airline will add Kefalonia in Greece, served twice weekly from 6 June to 29 August, and Windhoek in Namibia, expanding its long-haul offering in Africa. Edelweiss also plans to increase capacity and frequencies on several existing routes from Zurich.
