Swiss holiday airline Edelweiss will grow its short-haul fleet to 16 aircraft by April 2026, adding two Airbus jets transferred from SWISS. An A320 (HB-JLQ) will join in October 2025, followed by the airline’s first A320neo (HB-JDB) in April 2026.
The A320neo offers 15% lower fuel consumption, reduced emissions, and quieter operations, aligning with Edelweiss’ modernisation strategy while enhancing comfort and enabling longer routes. CEO Bernd Bauer said the move strengthens Edelweiss’ Zurich hub and marks an important step toward a more sustainable fleet.
