Edelweiss marks 2025 as a year of network expansion and fleet transformation

Share

Edelweiss, Switzerland’s leading leisure airline, has capped off 2025 as a landmark year defined by growth, innovation and strategic milestones. Over the course of the year, the airline expanded its route network with 11 new destinations, further strengthening leisure connectivity from Zurich to key holiday markets across Europe, Africa and North America.

The new destinations launched in 2025 include Salalah, Tbilisi, Seattle, Bristol, Terceira, Zadar, Halifax, Calvi, Praia, São Vicente and Luleå, reflecting Edelweiss’s continued focus on offering diverse and attractive travel options to leisure passengers.

This network growth went hand in hand with a major fleet milestone: the ongoing introduction of the Airbus A350. After becoming the first Swiss airline to operate the A350, Edelweiss now has four of these next-generation widebody aircraft in service, with two additional aircraft scheduled to join the fleet in 2026. The A350 plays a central role in improving operational efficiency, reducing environmental impact and enhancing passenger comfort, while supporting the broader sustainability objectives of the Lufthansa Group.

Edelweiss credited the achievements of 2025 to the dedication of its teams and partners, noting that the year’s successes provide a strong foundation for continued growth and innovation in the years ahead.
