Edelweiss Air is scaling back its long-haul network, citing declining demand, geopolitical uncertainty and rising fuel costs.
The airline has immediately discontinued flights to Denver and Seattle as part of adjustments to its summer schedule. Frequencies to Las Vegas will also be reduced during early summer and autumn.
Looking ahead to the winter 2026/27 season, Edelweiss will suspend services to Muscat and Salalah entirely.
The airline attributes the changes primarily to the continued impact of geopolitical tensions—particularly in the Middle East—as well as elevated fuel prices and softer demand on certain long-haul leisure routes.
Passengers affected by the cancellations will be rebooked on alternative itineraries, mainly via hubs within the Lufthansa Group network, or offered full refunds.
The move reflects a broader trend among European carriers adjusting capacity in response to volatile market conditions and shifting travel demand.
