Lufthansa’s first Airbus A350-1000 has been unveiled in a special blue livery celebrating the airline’s 100th anniversary. The aircraft, registered D-AIFA and to be named “Deutschland”, is expected to join the airline’s Munich-based fleet this autumn after completing test flights and final acceptance.
The A350-1000 will also mark a milestone for the Lufthansa Group as the 700th aircraft delivered by Airbus. The airline has ordered 15 A350-1000s, with deliveries scheduled through 2030.
Configured with 300 seats across four classes, including First Class, the new aircraft is seven metres longer than the A350-900 and will become Lufthansa’s flagship long-haul aircraft.
The A350-1000 is the seventh aircraft to wear Lufthansa’s special centenary livery, joining an A350-900, A380, Boeing 787-9, Boeing 747-8 and two Airbus A320neo aircraft already flying in the anniversary colours.
