Lufthansa will mark its centenary next year with a dedicated “anniversary fleet,” unveiling a striking special livery that will appear across six key aircraft types. The design celebrates 100 years since the founding of the first Lufthansa in 1926, blending the airline’s heritage with its modern identity.
Each selected sub-fleet will feature one aircraft painted in an exclusive blue fuselage with a white crane stretching across the wings, alongside a prominent “100” on the underside and “1926 / 2026” on the right side of the fuselage.
Leading the commemorative fleet will be the brand-new Boeing 787-9 “Berlin” (D-ABPU), due to arrive in Frankfurt this December. The centenary livery will also be applied to an Airbus A380, an Airbus A350-1000, an Airbus A350-900, an Airbus A320, and a Boeing 747-8.
Lufthansa will begin rolling out the special liveries in phases, with the full anniversary fleet expected to be completed by fall 2026.
