Lufthansa has revealed a new generation of uniforms for its staff, marking a major brand refresh as the airline approaches its 100th anniversary.
The collection—created in collaboration with BOSS—was presented at a fashion show held at the airline’s Hangar One venue. It covers cockpit, cabin, and ground personnel, blending Lufthansa’s traditional visual identity with a more contemporary, fashion-driven approach.
Around 40 new or redesigned pieces will be introduced, maintaining the airline’s signature dark blue and yellow colour palette. Among the standout elements is a cape designed for cabin and ground staff, referencing Lufthansa’s heritage while signalling a forward-looking brand image.
The uniforms were developed through an extensive co-creation process involving employees from across the company, who tested the garments for comfort, functionality, and sustainability. A key feature of the new system is flexibility: staff will be able to mix and match new and existing pieces, allowing for personalisation while reducing resource consumption.
According to Lufthansa Airlines CEO Jens Ritter, the uniform is intended to serve as a visible expression of the airline’s identity and service standards. Meanwhile, James Foster highlighted the combination of tailoring expertise and aviation requirements behind the designs.
The rollout of the new uniforms will begin in phases from the fourth quarter of 2026. Lufthansa says the initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise its brand and reinforce its positioning in the premium segment of global aviation.
