Lufthansa is celebrating Oktoberfest 2026 with newly designed traditional Bavarian outfits for selected cabin crews, special onboard menus and themed services in its German lounges.
Created by Bavarian heritage clothing company Spieth & Wensky, the uniforms combine regional traditions with Lufthansa branding. The airline’s crane appears on buttons, while its distinctive “Wing Pattern” has been woven into the skirts and waistcoats.
The new outfits will debut on 19 September on flights from Munich to Bangalore and Beijing, followed by a Munich–Singapore service on 27 September. Lufthansa introduced its Oktoberfest costume flights in 2006, when the first traditionally dressed long-haul crew flew from Munich to New York.
Selected intercontinental flights from Munich and Frankfurt will offer Bavarian dishes throughout September, including white-sausage terrine, pretzels, roast duck, fried chicken and apple strudel. European Business Class passengers will receive an Oktoberfest menu from 17 September to 6 October.
Lufthansa’s German lounges will also serve Bavarian beer and regional food, while First, Business and Premium Economy passengers departing Germany on long-haul flights will receive specially designed felt amenity kits until the end of September.
