Despite the strike today, the Lufthansa Group will be able to operate most of their 3,000 scheduled flights as planned

• Germanwings, Eurowings, Lufthansa CityLine, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Brussels Airlines will not be affected by the strike • Flight operations at hubs in Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels will run as scheduled

Lufthansa regrets that the Independent Flight Attendant’s Organization (UFO) cabin worker’s union has called a strike for all flight attendants today, 6 November 2015, between 14:00 until 23:00 in Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Lufthansa apologizes to all customers who are affected by today’s strike. The strike tactics chosen by the UFO, with particularly last-minute announcements of the location and duration of the strike, make it particularly difficult for the airline to inform its customers in the timeliest manner possible and to provide alternative travel options. Passengers who have registered their contact information are currently being be informed by e-mail and SMS about the status of their reservations. The special flight schedule for the strike period between 14:00 and 23:00 has been published on the website LH.com.

A total of almost ten per cent of all flights of the Lufthansa Group have to be cancelled due to the union’s strike today. Out of a total of 3,000 planned connections, 290 flights are cancelled, including 15 intercontinental flights to and from Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. Approximately 37,500 passengers are affected by the flight cancellations. The company is making every effort possible to minimize the impact of the strikes for its passengers.

The Group Airlines Germanwings, Eurowings, Lufthansa CityLine, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Air Dolomiti and Brussels Airlines are not on strike. Flights to and from Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, which are flown by the Group Airlines are also not affected by the strike. Flight operations at the hubs in Munich, Zurich, Vienna and Brussels will continue as scheduled.

As a precaution, Lufthansa asks all customers to go to LH.com to check on the status of their flights prior to traveling to the airport. In addition, Lufthansa will notify all passengers who have completed their contact information in the customer profile of any cancelations by e-mail or SMS.
